TINY URL USE...Only use TinyUrl's if a link is too long to post in full as hypertext. Most links work here but if they are 3 or more lines long they may not. A tiny url then can be created to take one DIRECTLY to the TinyUrl website that then gives you a link that lets you proceed on to the website you are trying to send people to. NOTICE, posting multiple Tiny URL's will be considered spamming and posts will be deleted. Thanks, Brenda

 Crohns+Naltrexone=Remission
« Thread Started on Feb 1, 2007, 8:56am »

Last November:
200mg Imuran, 6mg Entocort, 9-Imodium tablets and 6-8 BMs per day.
Today:
NO Imuran, NO Entocort, NO Imodium, 4 1/2mg Naltrexone and 3-4 BMs per day. Weight gain of 8 lbs with no change in intake or exercise. I presume this is due to better absorption.
Folks, this is the genuine article.

I am wondering how you tapered off of the Imuran. I am currently
trying to get a prescription for the LDN . I have Crohn's also and I am on 175 mg of Imuran. Do you begin the taper before you start taking the LDN or after you start it. Is it something a doctor would tell you, or do you have to take matters into your own hands. Im glad that the LDN worked for you! I hope this treatment will also work for me. Would be nice to feel "normal" again.

You might want to contact Dr. Jill Smith at Penn State Univ. and ask how to taper off.

Smith is the one whose been running the Crohn's/LDN trials.

OK, I emailed her and got a response ( although it wasnt really the one i was looking for). She didnt give me the taper on the Imuran, but she said that they were still taking patients in for the Crohn's trial. I don't think that I would be able to be in the trial , since I live in Minnesota and it is taking place at Penn State. I cant afford to be off of work that long and travelling is a nightmare. I asked her again in my reply what the taper for Imuran is . I am currently on 175mg. Hopefully I get something back this time.

Check with the Penn State trial, one may not have to live in the state to participate. Ask a knowledgeabe pharmacist how to taper off Imuran.
