I stumbled on this forum while investigating a better treatment for my brother , Diagnosed with behcet's disease in 2004 with severe eye inflammation (Uveitis) that left him almost blind , He's in remission as of now after a flare that lasted more than 6 months despite taking Neoral (cyclosporine ) at 250 mg /day and a host of other immuno-suppressant drugs . I am wondering if anyone benefited from the use of LDN in the treatment of eye inflammation associated with behcet disease ? Anyone can help with further informations?? Thanks in advance !
I'm not familiar with this disease but if the eye inflammation is anything like optic neuritis LDN should help. D. Bihari felt LDN would help all autoimmune system diseases, sure wouldn't hurt to try it.
Behcet is prevalent in people of Mediterranean descant and it mimics MS-like symptoms with many facets , in my brother's case it's mainly of occular manifestations with the occasional mouth ulcers and acne-like skin lesions that are probably a bacterial outgrowth resulting from the the suppression of the immune system . I have read somewhere that D.bihari treated many behcet patients himself with success and I am hoping that my brother would benefit too from LDN . thanks brenda for your reply !
